Introduction
A body of like minded people who each have a belief and a faith
who meet to share their knowledge and work for the good of the
community.
Regular meetings are held in an friendly informed manner where
everyone is respected for their belief and commitment.
Knowledge of communities is enhanced and the faith groups are
given a voice.
Whilst different faiths are represented there is a sense of shared
values and the opportunity for religious groups to become involved
in the community cohesion debate.
What is NSFoF ?
NSFoF is a body made up of individuals who belong to the various
faith groups across north Staffordshire.
It is concerned with mutual understanding between faith groups
and working together for the good of the whole community
It has a written constitution an executive body and holds regular
meetings.
It provides a hub for faith-access and engagement .
It creates opportunities for interfaith encounter and education.
It addresses the community cohesion agenda from the faith perspective.
It promotes good community relations.
It facilities inter-faith dialogue
What else does it hope to achieve?
The forum will continue to facilitate multi-faith dialogue by
way of discussion meetings on religious topics and social issues.
It will continue to raise interfaith awareness and promote good
community relations
The forum will act as a resource centre for religious artifacts
and provide training on faith issues to local organisations and
community groups.
The forum will act as a consultative forum on local issues for
local government.
Members of the forum will serve on local staregic initiatives
and be invlved with regeneration/neighbourhood renewal initiatives.
It provides a central voice of the faith sector for the benefit
of the media
Which religions are represented on the Forum?
Faiths and beliefs currently involved include representatives
from the following faiths: Hinduism, Judaism, Islam, Sikh, Unitarian
Church and all the main Christian denominations.
